The Cycle Sierra Nevada Scholarship was developed as a way to sponsor young cyclists that may not have opportunity or financial capacity to avail of a cycling training camp. In this section we take 5 minutes for a chat with one of the applicants selected for the 2019 program.

Why did you start cycling?
I started Cycling because there was a local bmx track.2 minuts away from my house and that looked like so much fun so thought i`d give cycling a go .
Have you any sporting backgrounds apart from cycling?
Represented the Isle of Man in table tennis,tennis,cross country and also cycling but cycling became a priority because I enjoyed it the most .
What type of cyclist are you? Do you compete in other disciplines, other than road cycling?
I`m a bit of an all rounder,not amazing at one particular arera but not bad either and I race in Road,Track and Time Trial
Favourite piece of cycling equipment/kit?
Shoes,everything looks better with a good pair of shoes
Your greatest achievements on a bicycle?
Becoming British youth TT champion a year ago
Your favourite professional cyclist? (past and present)
Eddy merckx and Primoz Roglic
Most memorable moment/stage win from professional cycling?
When Froome attacked 80KM away from the finish in the Giro 2018 stage 18
Your favourite stage race and one day race?
Giro and Tour of Flanders because the style of racing that it proposes and the history behind it .

Get decent results in the UK and on the continent and try and become a pro and move up the ranks and hopefully one day win the tour.
